Matt,

I've seen the other posts referring you to several hosting companies. I
would like to make one other suggestion. That is to purchase your own server
then have the people at Midas Networks (a local Austin company) host it and
manage it for you. I'll grant that it is more expensive then the desired
range you listed but it has the benefit of not having things change on the
server without your being aware of the changes. I went this route several
years ago after a company which offered reseller hosting changed their
security and email handling. At that time I had a client accuse me a
sabotaging their site because the forms that were suppose to send out emails
stopped working due to the changes. Everything was finally straightened out
but if left some bad feelings between my client and myself, the loss of the
client and loss of potential referrals from that client.

Since moving to Midas Networks, I have never experienced that because they
notify me of any updates that would need to be made prior to making them so
that I can check if there will be any issues. I opted to do some of the
management myself, that is creating new clients and accounts on the server
and let Midas Networks manage the security and updates as necessary.
