Use this Google doc viewer:  https://docs.google.com/viewer?pli=1

I had the same issue with a client and this does the trick for all
browsers.  Just enter the file address and it creates the link and an
iframed one to imbed.  Works every time, just be sure to preview each one
before you paste it in, just to prove its a good link.
