A number of sites I manage that are hosted on bluehost.com were compromized by spammers using a 2005 tellafriend.php script from WebsiteReady.Net (a source that is now no longer in business). They were exploiting the bcc and sending thousands of emails through it. Bluehost deactivated the account and only turned it back on after removed the permissions on the script. So I am now looking for a replacement and hope someone on this list can make a recommendation.
We liked having the BCC so we could see the referral recommendations. We saw several legitimate ones every week. If this was a wordpress site, I would use AddtoAny. AddToAny provides code for plain websites like this, but it recommends putting in the page URL. Since we use the ReferAFriend on every page of the site, I can¹t enter the specific URL. I think it will still work without that: The AddToAny site says: ³It's an extra safeguard. Some people have JavaScript and/or HTTP referers disabled in their browsers. JavaScript is needed for the dropdown menu to appear, and the referring page is used if the page URL isn't supplied. By typing in the page URL, all visitors will still be able to share, save and bookmark your page regardless of their browser settings. If you do not specify a URL, AddToAny will automatically detect the current page using JavaScript and/or the refererring page, and your visitors will always be able to click the button to go to the landing page.² But AddToAny doesn¹t have a BCC with which to view what people are saying when they refer a friend. It does, however work with Google Analytics. Can someone please recommend a good, SECURE script that is simple (doesn¹t require strong programming knowledge) to install?
