Hi - a few of us on the Austin Startups group on Facebook have been discussing the idea of starting an Austin Tech Meetup - I am new to Austin and we had a Tech Meetup in NYC and I am thinking we could create one here as well. There are monthly tech meetups in San Francisco and Boulder. The meetups typically allow for 5-6 startup demos. Initially I am thinking we could do a slightly different format with 2-3 demos and a brief presentation or panel. Typically the meetups then move to a close bar for networking.
I'd like to hold an initial planning session for those that might be interested in participating or providing feedback on Monday at 6pm at the Starbucks on 38th and Guadaleupe. If you are interested, please let me know - also if you have an office space that we could use, that might be a better option than the Starbucks. I can bring some snacks.
