Hi folks, I wanted to invite anyone from Refresh who may be interested to register for our first Austin Girl Develop It class on HTML and CSS. Girl Develop It is an awesome group founded in NYC that tries to get more women involved in technology by having female web and software developers pass their skills along to other women who want to explore programming. They emphasize a fun and friendly structure where all questions are welcome and it's 100% ok to be a beginner.
Along with other women from the Austin All-Girl Hack Night and our larger community here in town, I've been working to get this off the ground, and this small class will be our first. If you work in technology but don't code, or you have a friend/coworker/neighbor who might be interested, this should be a very useful and accessible way to hone those skills. It'll take place over the first two Saturdays in July (the 2nd and 9th) in the offices of Vast, on 6th Street downtown. The cost is $80, which gets you 8 hours of instruction, as well as support via email.
