All, I'm not active (at all) within this organization, but figured y'all would like to know: Tomorrow night at Austin City Hall, Code For America will be launching their Brigade program (http://codeforamerica.org/brigade/). If you didn't already know, Jennifer Pahlka, the founder and executive director of Code For America, is giving the SXSWi keynote speech tomorrow and will be highlighting the importance of digital citizenship and open government data. If you aren't familiar with Code For America, watch Jennifer Pahlka's inspiring TED talk on building better government from the bottom up: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n4EhJ898r-k Since this event is taking place in Austin, I think it's important that our community show up and help guide the development process around our cause(s). This program will play a key role in helping give citizens acquire the tools and data needed to build useful civic apps.
