Hey Refreshers, ACM's international conference on human-computer interaction, CHI will be in town next month at the Austin Convention Center.
If you're interested in HCI, human factors, cognitive science, interaction and interface design you may already be aware of the conference. Registration for the full conference is currently $960 for members, but as a thank you to the local tech community in Austin, you can attend the evening of Tuesday, May 8 (Local's Night) for $15 with advance registration (or $20 cash at the door). >From 5:00pm - 7pm Interactivity Showcase -- more than 50 installations of technology demos, digital art and other thought-provoking interactive experiences, including Roger Ibars' Hard Wired Devices collection, a collection of vintage control devices that explores the interface cultures of computer gaming and home appliances. >From 7pm to 8:30 CHI video program and welcome to CHI. http://chi2012.acm.org/localsnight.shtml Yeah, I know... it *is* the same night as Refresh... but it's all downtown! It would be great to see a bunch of folks from Refresh there so the rest of the world can see the kind of awesome tech community we have here in Austin. Come early to check out CHI, take in the cool exhibits and meet your colleagues from around the world... then walk a couple of blocks to Buffalo Billiards and get your Refresh on! See you there! -Annette -- Our Web site: http://www.RefreshAustin.org/ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Refresh Austin" group.
