Just wanted to invite any Refresh people looking for a mentor to come to the First Looks Forum on July 17 6-8pm, sponsored by the Business Success Center and Texas Entrepreneur Networks. It will be held at our offices, 7600 Burnet Rd. #130 (Chase Bank Tower, cross street Northcross Drive and Burnet Rd — one block south of Anderson).
It's a chance to discuss your business idea with up to 10 financial, legal, ,marketing, and operations experts who have experience building businesses. Think of this as a nicer, gentler Shark Tank and Speed-date all in one. There's no charge. Lots of parking, light refreshments, but limited to 10 entrepreneurs an evening so please RSVP to me. (You can sign up for a future date as well - 3rd Tuesday of each month, except December.) These mentors have agreed to meet again at a later date for free with any entrepreneurs they feel they can help. Again, no charge. They have been personally vetted and know that they are there to help you walk away with ideas and resources that night and later if you wish. One of our mentors was an Inc 5000 honoree. You do not have to be a startup. You do have to have an idea or be in process with creating a new product or service. We are also looking for additional mentors for this 3rd Tuesday monthly event. If you are interested in meeting mentors or being one, please contact me. I will ask you to fill out a short form so I can try to match entrepreneurs and mentors at the event and not get too many of one kind of expert. If you can't come in July, the next one is August 21.
