Jody, Thank you for your review and feedback. Do you like the equation B = CL + CB -01 better than AC = CL – B in -00? It’s easy to convert one to the other by negating the B value in -00 to convert to CB in -01. I personally like the consistency with the Registry Fee Extension and the left side of the equation matching the name of the object in the object extension. I include the original set of comments / questions from 3/10 for easy reference below, where I embed your feedback and my responses:
1. Define the handling of the fees and taxes in the definition of the Cash Balance (CB) and subsequently the Balance (B), where the transactions are inclusive of the fees and taxes. JK-I don't see a reason to complicate the draft further with Taxes and Fees defined. From what I can see as a registrar, we are only interested in what we owe the registry. Taxes and Fees can be defined in the periodic invoice. JG-Would you want to rephrase the sentence “The <balance:cashBalance> element represents the cash on hand that is impacted by client payments and billable transaction debits and credits, inclusive of the fees and taxes.” In -01? The intention is not to split out the taxes and fees in any way, but to state that the debits and credits are inclusion of the fees and taxes. The invoice can break out the taxes and fees. 2. Currently the currency is a single currency based on server policy. In practice the currency could be a single server defined currency or could be defined on a per-registrar basis. Do we want the server to perform currency conversion? JK- In regards to currency, it seems to me that registries and registrars currently transact in the currency defined by the registry and I don't see any reason to add more currency conversion to the draft.
