(The private list should not be used for such correspondance) I personally understand your stance on "or later" clause. While we still recommend GPLv2 "and later" for conveniency, while I still write projects on my own on GPLv2 "and later" and not GPLv2 because my projects are most of the time not really of great significance, we do host projects under GPLv2 only. It's not because I personally feel unconfortable with the "or later" clause that we do so, indeed, registration is not handled solely according to the feelings of the admin in charge at this time. It's also because the rule we choose is « We will only host programs with GPL-compatible licensing terms », and a GPLv2 only software is indeed such case. (https://gna.org/about/#art3) Currently, in the select box with the license, when you register projects, "GPL v2 only" is not present. It is not sure that we will add it, because we recommend "and later" (for conveniency; because many little software may become impossible to switch to GPLv3 afterwards, years after, while it would be helpful), so you'll have to choose "Other" as license.
