Ok, so actually, here's the answer.
If these images are distributed with the software it
contradicts the terms of the GNU GPL (one cannot freely distribute the
tarbal). The same applies if someone takes a snapshot of the
CVS.
Therefore it we cannot host your project, since it would break the promise
that people downloading software from Gna gets libre software with no legal
glitches or whatsoever.
In the same way, this problem makes your software impossible to include in
Debian, Mandriva or any GNU/Linux distribution, at least with these images.
It is our desire to host free software projects like yours, but the best
offer we can make is to accept your project with the promise that either you
will convince the author of these files to license them with a GPL-compatible
license (it could be dual-licensing, it does not matter how) or remove them
from the package (and distribute them separately if you wish).
So, it's up to you. Tell us.
