The project SwingServerConfig ( SSC ) consists in creating a Java Graphical
user interface to help a administrator configuring his server without writing
any command line or editing by hand any file.
SwingServerConfig contains a client (for the remote administrator) and a
deamon (on the server to be configured). The connection between the two parts
will be made via ssh2.
The project will be able to configure the following parts of the host
system:
- Apache (advanced configuration like alias management) and PHP installation
- PgSQL and MySQL <=> PHP
- chrooted ProFTP
- Exim (smtp server)
- Pop (courier/cyrus/teapop/other ?)
- Crontab (tasks scheduling)
- syslog (server monitoring)
- irc + adding a bot
- user management + right managements
- firewalling, masquerading, and nat with iptables
- distant shell
- starting/stopping/restarting services
- making backups of the configuration
