==== Description: ====
QDA is a qualitative data analysis program for Emacs.

QDA is modeled on some existing non-free qualitative data analysis programs:
NUD.IST, NVivo, and Atlas.ti. The intended licence for the package is the
GPL.

It allows the user to index passages of data from text files into a tree
structure that represents emerging theory about the data. It includes methods
for indexing by hand and by searches and methods for performing set-based
comparison of data at different nodes of the tree.

It also has a memo facility for note-taking about the data analysis.

It is principally intended for the analysis of qualitative research data such
as interview transcripts and ethnographic field notes. But it could be more
generally useful as a data organization tool for, for example, developing a
journal article or a monograph.

The code is reasonably mature, but I have used it solely for my own research
purposes so far, and there are many idiosyncracies of usage that would need
to be ironed out for public consumption. Since some others have expressed an
interest recently, I am working with them to bring it up to a state where it
might be useful for other people.

Thus, in the first instance, I would like to use gna.org as a forum for
discussing making those necessary changes. At a later stage, I would like to
host the project archives and bug management here too.

The code as it currently stands can be found at
