Hi,
with a classmate (we are in a french IT school), we have to develop a java
web based application:
The server side will host a messaging service. It will be developped like
that:
Apache + Tomcat 5.5 + JBoss 4.0.4 (EJB3 standard) + MySQL 5
We will use Session Bean and Entity Bean, persistence will be managed through
Hibernate 3.2.
The server will manage the accounts, the requests, and message life cycles.
The client side will be a mobile phone (J2ME standard) and will connect to
the server with HTTP protocol. With it, we can register, log in, read or
create messages in various categories.
There will be also a midlet for administration.
There will be no only free tools, it will be deployable on free operating
systems like some distributions of Unix/Linux.
We have only few sources available now, we have just freezed the main
specifications.

the client side will be developped with midlet (J2ME, CLDC 1.1, MIDP2).
+ Apache web server, Tomcat 5.5, JBoss 4.0.4, Hibernate 3.2, MySQL 5, ANT to
build the project.
All those tools and classes are available on free operating system.

We want to host the different versions of our project and have an easy way to
access it.
