==== Description: ====
PLM (Product Lifecycle Managment) is the process of managing the entire
lifecycle of a product from its conception,
through design and manufacture, to service and disposal. A few commercial
products are available, but they are quite
complex to install, configure, admin and use. They're designed for big
companies with high skills. MinervaPLM aims to
provide a small but complete PLM Solution for small companies and educational
purposes.

Minerva PLM is made of:

- a small Product Data Management build upon an object database (ZODB)
- a collaborative workspace build upon a Subversion server.
- a strong integration with CAD software (Catia V5 and SolidWorks for the
moment)
- a strong integration with MS Office and OpenOffice

MinervaPLM is released under the GPL. You can find source code for both
client and server side at :

http://www.minerva-plm.org/gna_registration/

==== Other Software Required: ====
Project relies on following librairies:
- pysvn ( http://pysvn.tigris.org) : Python SVN Extension
- ZOPE ( http://www.zope.org ) : an open source application server for
building content management systems, intranets, portals, and custom
applications

Development team also plans to use following libs in a short term:
- pycrypto ( http://www.amk.ca/python/code/crypto/ ) : Python Cryptography
Toolkit
- Twisted ( http://twistedmatrix.com/trac/ ) : event-driven networking
engine.
- ViewVC ( http://www.viewvc.org/ ) : a browser interface for CVS and
Subversion version control repositories.
