mpd-stats is a small project aimed to replace audioscribble on mpd for people
who don't want private information (the music they listen to) to be used by a
profit-driven company (last.fm), and published online.
The project is split in two parts: the first one is a small listener script
that regularly polls mpd and adds found information in a local SQLite DB, and
the other one is a script that generate stats according to what is in the DB.
The first part is already complete. It could easily be extended for other
music players than mpd, though I have no personal interest in doing so. A
crude version of the second part is also done, and the next features will be
a more complete configuration system and HTML export capabilities. The
current code can be found on
