Ishtar is a portable client/server library that provides softwares and robots
with facilities to:
- expose variables to client for inspection, logging and monitoring
- expose variables to client for dynamical change of parameters
- read settings value from human-readable/writable setting files.

Ishtar is particularly useful for mobile robots that need to be inspected and
configured dynamically by monitoring software. The versatile design of the
library allows, for example, robot simulations to be accessible in a similar
way than actual robot, so that the same monitoring software can be used.

Ishtar is built on Dashel in order to abstract the communication link. It is
thus transparently compatible with tpc/ip- and serial-based communications.
