==== Description: ====
We (a friend and I) plan to write a round based strategy game to be called
"quest for happiness".
The language in use will be python together with the pygame lib.
Graphics will mainly be take from "battle for wesnoth".
While optically it will at first sight look like a cheap rip off of this well
made game, it aims for a very different gameplay.
The idea is a crude take from utilitarism: the goal is to cause as much
(happyness times inhabitants times time) as possible. Needing a balancing
between hostile actions against neighboring rival players, long consecutive
times of peace, low work per head reatio and high living standard, yet many
people and therefore expansion and workforce intesive improvements in
settlings. Borrowing concepts from (free)civ and "settlers of catan".
It is inspired by the simplicity of "battle for wesnoth" that we'd like to
transfer into the realm of "building up strategies" and offering an
alternative to the usual goals of either "be the quickest to build a certain
amount of technology"/"last one standing".

The project has not produced yet anymore than 40 lines of python code to show
a 20*20 map of one tile type in a window. (not online accessible)

We think this could become a real nice game, and the impressive graphics set
from wesnoth would take a time consuming job from us: production of good
graphics.

==== Other Software Required: ====
python-pygame
libsdl-image
libsdl-mixer
libsdl-ttf
libsdl-sound1.2
later on perhaps libsdl-net
