MSS is a Multiple Search Software intended to universities documentation
centers which have a great amount of bibliographic databases.
Without MSS, user needed to search sequentially in all web-based interface of
all of theses databases, so he needed to know how to use all web interface
from all databases and use an external software to merge the results . With
MSS, the user just search everything from on place, with one web interface
and the merge is automatically done by the system.
MSS was first developped by Laurent Haeffelé at the SICD Strasbourg. But
Laurent Haeffelé leaved the SICD and there were no more developper to deal
with MSS, so the SICD decided to offer it to the community.
The heart of MSS is working (for Z3950 compliant databases). MSS now needs
more connectors to be able to use other databases.
