==== Description: ====
OpenHost GNU/Linux is a computer operating system based on GNU, Linux, and
the work of Patrick Volkerding and the Slackware team. Essentially, I have
taken the Slackware Current x86_32 and x86_64 distribution and modified and
customized an installation of it. I have removed most firmware packages and
Non-Free software and made the operating system capable of building itself
from what are know as SlackBuilds (source). It is a goal of mine to have
OpenHost approved by the Free Software Foundation. I have not yet made the
finalized version of OpenHost's source code available but am hoping I may host
it at Gna! As a facsimile to the source code I maintain, there is source code
for the majority of the system at
http://slackware.mirrors.tds.net/pub/slackware-current/source and I also use
some of AlienBOB's work located at
http://connie.slackware.com/~alien/multilib. I feel that OpenHost is a unique
system mostly because I have implemented ways and means to re-build the OS
from source, similar to the world of BSD or projects like OpenWall GNU/Linux.
Thank you for your consideration.
