==== Description: ====
RTFL, which stands for Read The Figurative Logfile, is a both a protocol for
structured debug messages, as well as a collection of programs (currently two,
rtfl-objcount and rtfl-objview) displaying these debug messages in a
semi-graphical way.

Programs are prepared to print these special debug messages to standard output
(typically controllable via #ifdef); for C++, there is already a header file
which provides convenient macros. By passing the messages to a viewer program
(rtfl-objcount, rtfl-objview, or, in the future, similar programs), it becomes
simpler to determine what the debugged program does.

There are currently two viewer programs:

- Rtfl-objcount is a very simple program counting object creations and
deletions, helping detection memory problems.

- Rtfl-objview displays RTFL debug messages as a diagram, with all commands
related to one object as a box, and showing the relations between the
objects.

More viewer programs (e. g. for detecting concurrency problems) are
desirable.

The recent version can be downloaded at
<http://www.dillo.org/~sgeerken/rtfl/download/rtfl-0.0.7-rc1.tar.bz2>. More
documentation is contained in this tarball.

==== Other Software Required: ====
FLTK version 1.3

==== Other Comments: ====
RTFL was for some months hosted at dillo.org (it is a byproduct of the
development of the dillo web browser, but hopefully useful for other
projects); dillo.org was moved few weeks ago, but RTFL did not follow this
move. For several reasons, I'd prefer it hosted in Gna!
