While this item will be useful to track the registration process, *approving
or discarding the registration must be done using the specific Group
Administration <https://gna.org/siteadmin/groupedit.php?group_id=3518> page*,
accessible only to site administrators, effectively *logged as site
administrators* (superuser):

= Registration Details =

* Name: *DC4Lan*
* System Name:  *dc4lan*
* Type: Programs
* License: Other, GPL Compatible (The original projects (EiskaltDC and AirDC)
use a GPL license as they are derivatives of the GPL licensed DC++

Our configurations are released under the public domain.

The installer is GPL licensed with source provided if requested (license is
not explicitly mentioned on the installer itself to reduce the size).)

----

==== Description: ====
The DC4Lan project aims at providing Direct Connect clients optimized for use
at Lan Parties.

As of now we provide a configuration (with a small script to do the
installing) for GNU/Linux, a configured client for Windows and a configured
client for Mac OS.

We used to use sourceforge for our releases until today
https://sourceforge.net/projects/dc4lan/ but we want to migrate as we don't
like the policies they are taking.

The recommended clients are Eiskalt DC++ (for Linux and Mac OS) whose source
can be found at https://github.com/eiskaltdcpp/eiskaltdcpp and AirDC whose
source can be found at https://github.com/airdcpp/airgit both of them are GPL
software.

Aside, the configurations themselves are released on the public domain whilst
the small installer is provided under a GPL license with sources available on
demand (by mailing klondike or asking in person).

==== Other Software Required: ====
The installer depends on bash and gzip being installed.

EiskaltDC depends on openssl and libboost aside from the libraries needed by
the chosen frontend (GTK+, QT or ncurses).

AirDC depends on openssl and libboost, requires some crappy windows libraries
for running with a graphical frontend (but may run well with wine) or can be
run well using a console based terminal.
