==== Description: ====
ortho4xp.sourceforge.net (when it is not down;-)

X-Plane is a commercial flight simulator by Laminar Research.
Part of it, actually everything regarding the generation of scenery, is open
source (it seems that the developpers needed the CGAL libray,
which is GPL, so they had to, no philantropism on their part...).

I am programing a software for scenery generation : it includes
download of Openstreemap data, mesh generation from altitude files,
texture generation from aerial imagery.

I have licenced it with GPL v3, and hosted it on Sourcforge and on
a Dropbox for the limited number of users for some months, but
Sourceforge is both often down and commercial (as I read).

My program relies only on open source software, it is developed on a Debian
machine (and probably works best but surely equally well) on free operating
systems.

I the following Dropbox, I include installers for Windows and Mac users for
which I don't really know the free status (like the Microsoft C++
redistributable libraries which are (at least Ibeleive) needed to install GDAL
(not to be confused with CGAL).

==== Other Software Required: ====
The following python modules : gdal overpy requests

The image manipulation program imagemagick (convert and montage)

A text to binary converter for DSF files called DSFTool (MIT Licence),
slightly tweaked by myself, with source and pre-compiled versions included.

==== Other Comments: ====
I am not a computer programmer as a job, and my experience
with svn is very limited. On the other hand I am the only
developper of the project.
A few videos of what can be done with my software can be found
on the web with the keyword Ortho4XP on a search engine.
[unfortunately the non free software X-Plane is needed, I dream of
being able to replace it completely some day though, but it is still
a long way]
