==== Description: ====
This project aims to create a simple, small, terminal based text editor using
the C programming language (ISO C, C90) and the ncurses library. It will
provide all the basic, most used text editing commands, but the goal is to
keep the project small and the code easy to understand. In the first version,
there will be support for ISO-8859-15 but not for UTF-8, although UTF-8
support may be added later.
Build procedures will be given for the gcc compiler. Instructions will be
given to to create either a dynamically linked version using glibc or a
statically linked version using the dietlibc Standard C library.
This a hobby project, which aims to be educational and provide clear, complete
documention, including both man and info pages. There is no source code yet,
the source code will be written mostly from scratch, although some source code
may be adapted from the PhDm editor (pe), which is available under the GPL
V2.1 or later license. The URL for the PhDm source code is:
http://phdm.webay.be/pe.html or more specifically:
http://phdm.webay.be/pe.tar.gz
==== Other Software Required: ====
ncurses
dietlibc
