However the rational behind sending this mail is considering the past experiences , when the trunk and branch become very differ it is some what difficult to merge and it is time consuming work. I just wanted to avoid that since we are targeting a new release soon after this.

Yes and I even followed that , however it was my mistake not to tell that to others , so when I tell them it was too late. They (Chathura and Chanaka) have committed all their changes only to branch not to trunk. That was the rational behind sending this mail.
