Yes I totally agree with you. However the rational behind sending this
mail  is considering the past experiences , when the trunk and branch
become very differ it is some what difficult to merge and it is time
consuming work. I just wanted to avoid that since we are targeting a new
release soon after this.

Yes and I even followed that , however it was my mistake not to tell that
to others , so when I tell them it was too late. They (Chathura and
Chanaka) have committed all their changes only to branch not to trunk.
That was the rational behind sending this mail. We really need to merge
those changes first.
