This is the active mailing list, but seems like all developers (like patrick 
and me) spent (or are spending) holidays.

I think the Latest news section on the homepage goes fine for such 
information. Would be nice to have a rss feed of that (contributors?).

I can't find any link to homepage at the sourceforge site? Avi can you check?

What about bouncing daily svn-commits on that list?

Perfectly. But I don't think that any API changes should go to the stable 
branch. I will continue work on unstable on monday.
