Although the description is vague, it does describe bug #572550. The problem
described is not invalid, it's very real. Ubuntu Lucid is not usable (as a
desktop) when using a Matrox video card.
Jeffrey, can you attach the output of lspci -v as well as a screenshot just to
be sure? (alt-F2 --> gnome-screenshot)
