I hope this is helpful to someone. Please note: I use Ubuntu64 I had the same problem. FF 3.5.9 resulting in "Java applet unable to load" when accessing CRA's Account page. I found that FF 3.6 has replaced IceTea with SunJava6 plugin: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/AMD64/FirefoxAndPlugins#java I followed the instruction for FF3.6, replaced IceTea with SunJava6 and success - I can now access CRA Account page without any problems.
