Sorry: please disregard the

response was that I wasn't a subscriber to this bug (I am) and the
report was a duplicate (it isn't). So I'll manually add the bits that
may be relevant:
That was a cut&paste from 546578.
I can reproduce this on two identical machines. The machines were both
upgraded from karmic to lucid.
