I'm experiencing this issue too, with an Intel 965 VGA. Moreover, since the upgrade to Lucid I have also experienced simlar graphics problems with other applications, namely XMBC and Gnome-Shell. They are both not usable in my configuration, but they worked perfectly before the upgrade. Therefore I think it is really something related to the graphic driver. Strangely enough, compiz is working perfectly.
