Warning: AFAIK this bug is only for the i386 or AMD64 architectures. If you see a similar problem on a PowerPC computer (e.g. a PowerBook or an iBook G4) and it's fixed by running "sudo modprobe pmu_battery" then you are instead experiencing bug #552597 (<https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/552597>).
