People running Lucid that are concerned about the dongle not running in embedded mode should know it is possible to still have it work in that mode just commenting out the hid2hci line in /lib/udev/70-hid2hci.rules; I've blogged about it here: http://async.com.br/~kiko/diary.html?date=06.08.2010
