I still encounter the same bug using Kubuntu Lucid Lynx 10.04 on i386 achitecture:
openvpn-2.1.0-1ubuntu1.1 network-manager-openvpn-0.8ubuntu3 network-manager-openvpn-kde-0.9~svn1112085-0ubuntu4 Connection with x509 and unprotected keyfile works, passphrase-protected keyfile fails.
