Regarding "killer apps" my company has kindly allowed me to use Ubuntu when i boot a LiveCd or Usb session and a couple of times has expressed in having a look at what i can do, at some point when they have some free time and nothing else to do (will never happen, hopefully).
However GnuCash offers them time-saving and it could be the app that gets them interested in just using Ubuntu rather than doing a feasibility study.
