Both mics still not working using the PPA. File attached. I can still get the ext mic working by using HDAanalyzer to toggle the switches and set the volume.
These are my notes to myself: 1. node0x23 mute and unmute Val0 because it shows default unmuted but in fact it is muted 2. increase Node 0x08 AUD_IN Val0 to value 30-35 rather than the default of zero.
