I've been able to replicate this, so I'll take it up with the Debian maintainer.
> Could someone give me a fairly detailed how-to as to the steps I need to take to apply this patch? https://wiki.ubuntu.com/PackagingGuide for all the gritty details, but basically: pull-lp-source yiff lucid grab-attachments 560703 cd yiff-2.14.5 patch -p1 < ../yiff_2.14.5-5.1ubuntu0.10.04.1.debdiff debuild -uc -us Install the resultant deb. I've already done this, you can grab it from my PPA: https://launchpad.net/~stefanor/+archive/ppa/+packages Note that this patch doesn't actually fix anything, it just stops the installation from failing if the Daemon can't start. Do you actually need yiff-server? We tend to use pulseaudio for this kind of thing on Ubuntu these days (assuming yiff-server is what I think it is) -- package yiff-server 2.14.5-5.1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/560703 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Registry Administrators, which is the registrant for Debian. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~registry Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~registry More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
