Hi Jim I've read and understood your message - I understand the problems of debugging a fault you can't reproduce. However, giving us a clear statement of where we are - without making it sound as though we were simple - was really helpful and much appreciated.
Having said all of that I have made my problem go away. I originally installed the 10.10 beat release and the applied all of the upgrades until it was up to date with the live version - everything worked fine apart from the Shotwell/gphoto2 mouse problem. So anyway I downloaded and installed copy of the full 10.10 amd 64 release. This is a pain as I need to install and configure all of the extras that I had working before. Well after all of the Shotwell seems to be working well with no mouse glitches.
