I have never had a problem with either screen going to sleep or netbook hibernating on lid closure since I implemented the workaround on my 2140.
I put echo 1 > /proc/acpi/video/C088/DOS and echo 0 > /proc/acpi/video/C088/DOS in /etc/rc.local and as this is run as root there is no problem. I think the reason for not being able to do it with sudo is a configuration thing with the sudo command but haven't had the time/will to check that. If one does a sudo su the command runs as it ought to. Also check that HIBERNATE_MODE=platform and SUSPEND_METHODS="pm-utils" in /etc/default/acpi-support. -- HP 2140 Lid Close Not Detected https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/376793 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Registry Administrators, which is the registrant for gnome-power. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~registry Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~registry More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
