I did a new install of Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick I can not mount the floppy, the situation remains the same.
Solution: given that is not a fix available given that the floppy is an obsolete media, by today's standards..... given that the DVD and the DVD/CDROM works.....as long I don't try games with udisks and related soft... The conclusion: I give up the floppys. All of them to the wastecan.
