Thanks for reporting this bug and any supporting documentation. Since this bug has enough information provided for a developer to begin work, I'm going to mark it as confirmed and let them handle it from here. Thanks for taking the time to make Ubuntu better!
** Description changed: Ubuntu 10.10 (not 10.4) blocks all my windows CD's from running under wine as they are not marked as executable files. I cannot change the permissions because they are on CD's and hence Read Only. I cannot (and do not want to ) make a copy of all the CD's I use rarely onto my hard drive and run from there - and in any case some of the CD's are protected to prevent this. Is there a fix that I can't see or am I going to have to rollback to 10.4 which lacked this amazingly crass feature (why no override possibility on block?) + + WORKAROUND: + You can add the wine ppa (https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-wine/+archive/ppa) which works around this. ** Changed in: wine1.2 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Low ** Changed in: wine1.2 (Ubuntu) Status: New => Triaged -- wine blocks windows CD autoexecs https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/669345 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Registry Administrators, which is the registrant for NULL Project. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~registry Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~registry More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
