Some of the dups/link suggest that the pam_unix abnormal exit (crash) is
down to corruption of /dev/null, possibly caused by a rogue version of
the Vodafone Mobile Connect client.

It could be that this is being shipped (at least in the case of one of
the dups) but a netbook distributor along with UNR/UNE.
