I have Red Hat Linux 7.2 (Seawolf) on an i386
running 2.4.17 and patches from the namesys ftp server when the kernel was
compiled, 26/12/01.
Anyway, i forgot to install reiserfsprogs on the
package selection during installation of rh72. so, i went to namesys ftp and got
the latest reiserfsprogs. 3.x.1a
i have a reiserfsck 3.x.0j in the /sbin folder.
(redhat must have put it there). i want to put on 3.x.1a.
when reading thru INSTALL, it says it will put all
its stuff into /usr/local/sbin. i know u can go ./configure
--prefix=/sbin.
should i delete the old 3.x.0j (rpmquery says
reiserfsprogs is not installed and reiserfsdebug and resize don't exist) and
install the new one to /usr/local/sbin or /sbin???
i want it to be able to an fsck (if i shutdown
incorrectly) when i reboot automatically. /usr/local/sbin or
/sbin???
thanx
ps: shouldn't this be a newsgroup or
something?
