Matgic78 is proposing a merge request about Pano's idea of opening external URLs on new windows just if there is no one in the same desktop.
That's how pano explained it: > When clicking on a link in an external app (e.g. KMail) this link will be > opened in a new rekonq window, even though there is already a rekonq > instance on the same desktop running. Imho it should open that link in a > new tab, and create a new rekonq window, only if there is no rekonq > instance running on the same desktop. and this is matgic78's use case: > (example) I'm doing a school work and I'm very tired of it. I want to do a > break. I change of desktop and of linked-to-desktop plasma activity, where > there is a rss plasmoid for planetKDE. I click on the links to the articles > that interest me. Where should it open ? > In the other desktop; with my 10 tabs about the subject YYY ? so we have these options: 1) (actual): open external URLs in new tabs or in new windows (chosen via user settings) 2) (pano + matgic78): open external URLs in new window if there is no one opened on the same desktop. 3) (remix): provide options to choose one from 2 or 3 of these. I really cannot decide about.
