Hi Karin, It's strange that there was only one file listed! Did you download the file from http://www.nmr-relax.com/download.html or from http://download.gna.org/relax/ ? These are the official places you can find relax. Another reliable place is from http://freecode.com/projects/nmr-relax. From the link http://www.nmr-relax.com/download.html you'll be able to check if the file is correct from the file size, the md5sum (if you have a program to calculate the md5sum of the file you downloaded), or GPG signature (again you'll need PGP or GPG software to check this one, though I have written instructions for this at http://www.nmr-relax.com/windows_devel.html#gpg). As for the moving of the files, how did you do this? Is this a message from Windows Explorer? I don't know this error message from Windows Explorer as it should move files, even if they are corrupted. The only exception is if the harddisk is failing and the corruption is not the files but the harddisk itself. Could you type out the exact error message and what it comes from. What is the directory you are copying from and the directory you are copying to? Do you have administrator rights on your computer? If the answer to the last question is no, then you will require the IT guys to set up relax for you.
To run relax, you'll need to install of the windows dependencies listed at http://www.nmr-relax.com/download.html#MS_Windows. This includes Python, numpy, and pyreadline. If you'll like to use the GUI, then you'll need wxPython. The previous link has all the details and links for downloads. Once the dependencies are all installed, then you can run relax. There should be a relax.bat file that comes with the program. You can double click on that, but I'm not sure if that will do anything. This is not a normal windows program, relax is normally run from the command line. Most relax users use relax in scripting mode. And for the GUI mode, you would normally open up the windows shell (either cmd or the powershell) and type: relax -g Though this requires setting the windows environmental variable. Hopefully we can get to the bottom of this problem! Regards, Edward P. S. Note, once you have relax set up, you may like to modify the system path so that you can run relax from anywhere (http://www.nmr-relax.com/windows_devel.html#path) On 7 February 2012 18:41, <[email protected]> wrote: > Hi Edward, > > Yes, I'm a real person - no worries! > > There is only one file listed on the site to download for use on Windows - > it is a zipped file.
