Hey, I just found this bug in gnome-icon-theme 3.2.1: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=662171
I haven't checked all icons, so I don't know if it only affects the media-playback-start one, or if others also have issues. Since this is a very visible icon, you might want to consider this a blocker.
