agreed.

as for the beta cycle, july 2nd is a bad date imho as that is right in the 
middle of akademy. i could see us doing a beta release right prior to 
akademy[1] and then another mid july. this would allow us to use akademy to 
tighten things up nicely. mid-june could be an alpha (as opposed to the 
developer snapshots) which would allow us to identify sore spots which would 
then be the focus for akademy; beta 1 would end up july 15th or somewhere in 
there reflecting that progress.

sorry i didn't notice that conflict of dates (july 2nd being 
middle-of-akademy) sooner =/
