Hola. It was brought to my attention that at least one linux distribution developer likes to have git tags signed as to have authoritative tags for releases. IIRC this was mostly as a nice-to-have sort of thing, so this isn't terribly important I'd say. Nevertheless, if you are in the business of releasing you might wish to consider signing your tags. I for one can't see a downside TBH.
