Hi packagers,

I'm happy to let you know that we have just published a new release of KDE
Connect [1], version 1.2

Also, I wanted to use this email to make a note about the dependencies of
KDE Connect. Currently, on some distros (eg: Debian [2]), the KDE Connect
package depends on 'plasma-workspace'. This dependency is not needed for
anything in KDE Connect, and it might discourage users from other desktops
from installing it, as it brings a huge dependency tree with it.

It is true that the GUI we ship with the kdeconnect package is a plasmoid,
but the user is free to install another frontend (there are several
available for Gnome and Elementary OS), or use the command line tool and
just not use the plasmoid.

So, if you are packaging KDE Connect for any distro, it would be awesome if
you make sure plasma-workspace is not listed as a dependency of your
package. Thanks a lot!

Albert
