Works for me, ktp has been more painful than useful for some time. It would
make sense to have a replacement though - revive kopete? Push neochat and
matrix and/or konversation/kvirc and irc on people mostly using some other
protocol?

Neochat is already a very capable and clean Matrix chat client. IRC is
showing it's age.
