Meeting minutes from Qt Release Team meeting 16th January 2018 Qt 5.9.4 status: - Snapshot under testing. One new blocker reported so far * Some reports still missing but so far packages seems to be quite good. - All known blockers (https://bugreports.qt.io/issues/?filter=19034) should have a fix available * Last one under integration --> We should have final content in place quite soon (if nothing new & serious enough found from ongoing tests) - Target is to create final packages immediately after last fix is integrated in qt5.git, run RTA for packages & put the release out * Hoping we can get it out still during this week
Qt 5.10.1 status: - Branching not started yet. We are still waiting Qt 5.9.4 final content & merges from '5.9.4' -> '5.9' -> '5.10' - First packages done & RTA ongoing. If all seems to be OK we will publish the snapshot & run full manual test round for it - Only few bugs in the blocker list at the moment, see https://bugreports.qt.io/issues/?filter=19047 * Most of open ones should have a fix available already - Target is still to get release out during January Qt 5.11: - Feature freeze quite close so it is time to start updating new features page for Qt 5.11 (https://wiki.qt.io/New_Features_in_Qt_5.11) * Soft branching starts ~after a week and FF & final branching will be at the end of this month - No known new submodules for Qt 5.11 - First binary snapshot done & RTA for it ongoing. If all seems to be OK we will publish the snapshot soon. br, Jani irc log below [17:00:05] <jaheikki3_> akseli: iieklund: thiago: fkleint: ZapB: tronical:vladimirM: aholza: peter-h: mapaaso: ankokko: fkleint: carewolf: fregl:ablasche:lars: ping [17:00:52] <thiago> jaheikki3_: pong [17:01:08] <akseli_> jaheikki3_: pong [17:01:28] <jaheikki3_> time to start qt release team meeting [17:01:33] <jaheikki3_> on agenda today: [17:01:38] <jaheikki3_> Qt 5.9.3 status [17:01:44] <jaheikki3_> Qt 5.10.1 status [17:01:48] <jaheikki3_> Qt 5.11 status [17:02:03] <jaheikki3_> Any additional item to the agenda? [17:11:51] <jaheikki3_> Ok,thats all about 5.9.4. Then Qt 5.10.1 status [17:12:18] <jaheikki3_> Branching not started yet. We are still waiting Qt 5.9.4 final content & merges from '5.9.4' -> '5.9' -> '5.10' before starting it [17:13:06] <jaheikki3_> First binary snapshot done & RTA ongoing. If all seems to be OK we will publish the snapshot & run full manual test round for it [17:14:00] <jaheikki3_> Release blocker situation quite good at the moment, only few open in blocker list (https://bugreports.qt.io/issues/?filter=19047) and fixes are available for most of those already [17:14:46] <jaheikki3_> If all goes well it should be possible to get Qt 5.10.1 release out during January [17:15:03] <jaheikki3_> Any comments or questions? [17:17:00] <jaheikki3_> That was all about 5.10.1 now [17:17:09] <jaheikki3_> Then Qt 5.11 status: [17:17:52] <jaheikki3_> Feature freeze is already quite close: Soft branching starts ~after a week and FF & final branching will be at the end of this month [17:18:26] <jaheikki3_> So it is time to start updating new features page for Qt 5.11 (https://wiki.qt.io/New_Features_in_Qt_5.11) [17:18:50] <jaheikki3_> So far it seems there won't be any new submodules in Qt 5.11 [17:19:23] <jaheikki3_> But is one(s) coming please make sure those will be in qt5.git before soft branching starts [17:19:50] <jaheikki3_> First binary snapshot created as well & RTA for it ongoing. If all seems to be OK we will publish the snapshot soon [17:20:30] <jaheikki3_> Any comments or questions? [17:20:34] <The-Compiler> I'm kinda concerned about new features in QtWebEngine - there's a lot of nice things started but not finished for Qt 5.11 and I'm wondering whether that'll all get in in time... See https://github.com/qutebrowser/qutebrowser/issues/3010 for a list. Well, if not, I guess I'll have something to look forward to for Qt 5.12 if not :) [17:21:55] <jaheikki3_> yeah, if something isn't ready at FF then those needs to wait Qt 5.12 [17:22:54] <jaheikki3_> Ok, this was all at this time. [17:23:29] <jaheikki3_> Let's skip next weeks meeting & have new one tue 30th January 16:00 CET [17:23:47] <jaheikki3_> Thanks for your participation. Bye! [17:24:23] <frkleint> bye [17:24:26] <frkleint> sounds good _______________________________________________ Releasing mailing list [email protected] http://lists.qt-project.org/mailman/listinfo/releasing
